• Just a little more about me

Usually I work at a kids club, which is generally held after school hours. But now that the great summer hols are here, I find I have too much time on my hands. Believe me, I love the lie ins I get in the mornings. Pure bliss! Cup of tea on the bedside cabinet and book in hand. And although it might not seem it, I do feel sorry for those of you who have to trudge to work at some godforsaken hour. I guess what would make it worse, would be if we had fantastic weather; which we don't at the moment. And in the honour of a great British tradition of talking about the weather; where are our warm sunny skies? Where is the summer? Was that one day at the weekend it?! And to make light of the flooding some of us had during July and to poke a little fun at the police service, I've uploaded a clip that I hope you will find amusing!
Any way, getting back to the kids club, I love working there. It gives me the chance to behave as a big kid! To say, "because I said so", and to throw a paddy when things don't go my way. I love the stuff some of them come out with. One young lad (whos father's gay), turned round one day, when his dad was collecting him, said, "my dad's the only gay in the village!" I almost choked!! But thankfully, his father saw the funny side, as did everyone else!
I'm waiting for the day when the long six weeks of summer holidays are over. There's only so much of a comment like, "I'm bored" a parent can take. Thankfully, my daughter has gone to visit her father, so he can be the one to occupy her for the next couple of weeks. And no doubt I'll get the lowdown on how boring the visit was when she gets back home!

  • Going to grow old very disgracefully!!

There was a point, not so long ago, where I dreaded being 40. In fact, in my twenties, the thought of being older terrified me! But now that I've just passed the forty mark, it doesn't feel so bad. In fact, I'm really enjoying it. I have bags more confidence, I don't give a toss as to what anyone thinks any more, I actually say what's on my mind, and I think I look better now than I did when I was younger.
I'm going to grow old disgracefully and become a leather clad, bike riding granny! And probably swear at any one who pisses me off. >:XX  Did I say that?!
And why the hell not? I don't fancy being an old lady with a blue rinse and a flowery nylon dress. I'm not there yet though. Right now I'm a leather clad, bike riding mama!!:p
